Dans une distorsion drono-acoustique où le cuivre se frotte au bois, Meril Wubslin façonne en quelques accords une musique neuve et hypnotisante entre longues plages évolutives et balades grinçantes.

Des airs tristes mais pas encore désespérés, des voix qui se caressent en des textes dépouillés regorgeant d’air frais, des synthétiseurs qui se mélangent aux incantations quasi-chamaniques, cheminant en bordure d’une harmonie contemporaine à travers sept morceaux qui nous fixent à un banc suspendu d’où contempler le monde.

Issu des cerveaux siamois de Valérie Niederoest et de Christian Garcia, figures de la scène indé Romande qu’on a rencontré chez Toboggan et Velma respectivement, ce disque sobrement intitulé SINON brise les canons francophones à coups de tambours en convoquant les spectres de Godspeed you black Emperor, de Brigitte Fontaine ou du Velvet Underground, qui planent juste au-dessus comme des aigles noirs déguisés en corbeaux.
